Brittany holiday cottage with pool guestbook
Please find below the combined guest book for La forge and La Veille Maison. As renting out La Veille Maison is a new venture for myself, I have decided to keep the La Forge reviews because they give you idea's of where to go while staying.
Any reviews dated 2011 onwards is for La Veille Maison.
For me moving to France was a dream come true, a new start in life, whats made it so wonderful is the confirmation from all my guest that i have chosen a property and location that's very hard to beat.
Its lovely meeting people from all over the UK, Holland and France that choose to stay at the holiday cottage.
I look forward to next year and the years to come, greeting new guest and those from the past returning again to enjoy the delights of southern Brittany at La Forge and La Veille maison.
We loved the cottage and of course the children loved the pool and visiting the birds. Auray, Lorient and Vannes were all worth a visit. Thank you for your hospitality Mark and kindly sharing lots of information on the surrounding areas. All the best.

Glorious sunny two weeks at La Forge. We have enjoyed everything from good food-particularly La Cheval Blanc in Baud - to the perfect host. Thanks for providing the ideal spot Mark and for the encouragement for Luke ( almost 5) to ditch the floats and start swimming. We have all made full use of the pool to cool down- several times per day! Sorry to be leaving, good luck with your plans for the future. PS Camors adventure park a great place for kids.

Excellent location to visit all areas of Morbhian as most tourist locations are between 30-45 minutes away. St Goustan at Auray is a must, a lovely place, as is Rochfort-En-Terre. The boat trip to the Ile Aux Moins was fantastic and a great place for a picnic. We also recommend hiring a day boat from La Gacilly.A big thank you Mark for being an excellent host during our 2 week stay. Wishing you every success and happiness in the future.

The holiday cottage is very nice to stay, I'm looking forward to enjoying my first Christmas in France this year. The pool is lovely to swim in, I learnt to swim last year and can now swim underwater without holding my nose. I love the chickens, especially Spike even tho he is a scaredy cat and I love collecting the eggs and feeding them grass.
Daddy I love your home in France, love Amie Rose xxx
Amie Rose Cavalier
We would recommend La Veille maison, it is a well equipped and furnished house, full of charm with a south facing terrace overlooking the swimming pool in the very small hamlet of Kerbourbon. The terrace is ideal for relaxing in the mornings sun or for lazy evenings.
Well situated in a rural surrounding, La Veille maison gives the opportunity for walking locally with easy access to Baud and Camors. For those who prefer the coast, further afield is the resorts of Etel, Quiberon and those of the Golfe de Morbihan such as Locmariaquer and Port Navalo all offering wonderful sea food dishes. Port Navalo sands appear to be particularly suitable for bathing. It was impossible to fit in all the interesting places in just a week but a Quimper visit was fitted in and was considered worth while for some of our party.
For those interested in war time Brittany,a visit to the French resistance museum at St Marcel (just 20 miles east of kerbourbon) is a must. A very imformative account from the activities in Brittany from the first resistants to the battle fought by the resistance and the French SAS at St Marcel in June 1944. For a thorough view a couple of hours is required to view the seven or so display rooms.
Altogether an enjoyable holiday with Mark on hand to help out without being obtrusive.

Thank you very much for a relaxing holiday. This is a lovely property in a wonderful location. It has many features and facilities that we have not found in other holiday homes. We will be recommending you to our friends and family.
We wish you all the very best for your baby making plans!

Enjoyed a lovely week at La Veille Maison and were very glad of the pool to cool down in during the exceptionally high temperatures of our week’s stay.
Revisited the old medieval towns of Vannes and Auray and enjoyed a meal in St Goustan Port with live music provided by a local band. The Petit Train tour of Carnac and the standing stones is worthwhile particularly when you can get on and off as you please to explore more. The walk/cycle paths along the river Blavet are also peaceful and pretty.
We can recommend the pizzeria on the RHS as you come in to Baud from the direction of la Veille Maison; they also do carry out!
All in all a lovely week!

What a gem. So many things to do for both kids and adults. Mark is full of great suggestions, lovely people. Camors adventure and Petite park outside Carnac were the kids favourite (8-16 years old) Pool is grand. There are a few lovely walks nearby, if you wish to chill out by the pool and take a rest from the site seeing. Just perfect. Hope to return - will recommend and thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home :)
